Hearing Better
This hub gathers those things in one place. Start with the problem that bothers you most. Try at least two of the options below. Last reviewed 29 September 2026.
At a glance
- Hearing aids are a powerful tool, but they are only part of the answer.
- Try at least two of the five options: skills, training, TV streaming, captions, or a wireless microphone.
- Tell us where you struggle. We will suggest what fits your life.
Five ways to hear better
First, learn communication skills. The 5 Keys program teaches where to sit, how to set up a room and what to ask the speaker to do. Second, train your listening. LACE and clEAR are practice programs you do at home. Third, use a TV streamer or Auracast to send TV sound straight to your hearing aids. Fourth, consider captioning glasses, which show live captions of speech. Fifth, use a wireless microphone that puts a clearer voice signal into your hearing aids. Each of these fills a gap that a hearing aid alone leaves open.

Frequently asked questions
A few questions worth asking
Do hearing aids fix all hearing problems?
No. They make sound louder and clearer, but noise, distance, echo and fast talkers still make listening hard. Skills, training and extra devices fill those gaps.
Which of these should I try first?
Start with the problem that bothers you most. For many people that is the TV or noisy restaurants. Learning simple communication skills costs little and helps everywhere.
Can I use these with hearing aids I bought elsewhere?
Often yes. Many of these tools work with most major hearing aid brands. Bring your devices to an appointment and we will check what works with them.
Do you sell every product on these pages?
Not necessarily. We will tell you plainly which items we can order and fit, and which you would buy from the maker or another source.
