Dr. Emily McMahan is a highly respected audiologist, recognized nationally for her expertise in tinnitus management, hearing care innovation, and advancements in telehealth audiology.
She is the founder and owner of the Alaska Hearing & Tinnitus Center, a leading practice serving Alaska and the western United States that is especially recognized for its focus on tinnitus management. Based in Anchorage, Alaska, she is committed to expanding audiological care through remote and field clinics across multiple states.

Credentials & training
Dr. McMahan earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Cincinnati and her Doctorate of Audiology from Salus University in Philadelphia. She completed her residency in Anchorage, Alaska, where she continues to be based. She is certified by the American Board of Audiology and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. She was named Alumna of the Year by Salus University's George S. Osborne College of Audiology.

Her clinical expertise includes diagnostic hearing evaluations, tinnitus assessment and management, and telehealth service delivery, caring for both pediatric and geriatric populations. Dr. McMahan is among the first U.S. clinicians to implement Lenire, the FDA-approved bimodal neuromodulation device for tinnitus, and co-authored a real-world outcomes study on its effectiveness published in Nature Communications Medicine.
