As June approaches, California Hearing Center invites you to join us in commemorating a significant event that promotes inclusivity and compassion. In this blog post, we will delve into the importance of Pride Month, shedding light on how this initiative aligns with our values as a company.
June serves as a powerful platform to celebrate Pride Month, a global commemoration of the LGBTQ+ community’s ongoing fight for equality and acceptance. California Hearing Center recognizes the significance of this month-long celebration, which traces its roots back to the historic Stonewall Riots in June 1969.
Pride Month stands as a testament to the resilience and progress made by the LGBTQ+ community. It is a time to honor the struggles, achievements, and contributions of individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. At California Hearing Center, we embrace diversity and stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, advocating for equal rights and fostering an inclusive environment for all.

Pride events & hearing health: FAQs
1) Do earplugs ruin the music or make everything muffled?
Not necessarily. High-fidelity earplugs reduce volume while keeping sound clearer than foam plugs. Custom options can be even more comfortable and consistent.
2) How do I know if an event is “too loud”?
If you need to raise your voice to talk to someone an arm’s length away, it’s likely loud enough to risk hearing damage over time. Ear protection is a smart move.
3) My ears rang after a loud night — is that normal?
Ringing (tinnitus) after loud sound is common, but it’s a sign your ears were stressed. If ringing lasts more than 24–48 hours, or keeps happening, it’s worth getting checked.
4) Can hearing aids help with tinnitus?
For many people, yes — especially if there’s any hearing loss. Better access to sound can reduce the brain’s “need” to fill in silence, and some devices include tinnitus sound therapy options.
5) I can hear in quiet, but struggle in restaurants and crowds. What gives?
That’s a classic complaint. Background noise and distance make speech much harder, and even mild hearing loss can show up most in busy settings.
6) Should I get a hearing test even if I’m “not that old”?
Yes. Hearing changes can happen at any age. A baseline test helps you understand what’s happening now and gives you a reference point for the future.
7) What’s the difference between custom earplugs and over-the-counter plugs?
OTC plugs are quick and affordable, but fit and clarity vary. Custom earplugs are molded to your ears for comfort and consistent protection, and can be tuned for music and events.
Still unsure what you need? Tell us what situations are hardest (restaurants, meetings, concerts, tinnitus) and we’ll point you in the right direction.
