California Hearing Center Welcomes World-Renowned Tinnitus Expert Dr. Emily McMahan for a One-Day In-Person Clinic (March 30, 2026)

If you’ve been living with persistent ringing, buzzing, hissing, or roaring in your ears, you already know tinnitus can affect everything—sleep, focus, mood, and the ability to enjoy conversations. The good news: tinnitus care has advanced, and many patients can experience meaningful improvement with an evidence-based plan.

California Hearing Center is thrilled to welcome Dr. Emily McMahan, Au.D. for a one-day, in-person tinnitus clinic on Monday, March 30, 2026 at our San Mateo location. Through our ongoing partnership, Bay Area patients can access Dr. McMahan’s advanced tinnitus protocols locally—without traveling out of state.

Meet Dr. Emily McMahan, Au.D. — National Leader in Evidence-Based Tinnitus Care

Dr. Emily McMahan is the founder and owner of Alaska Hearing & Tinnitus Center and is widely recognized for her clinical expertise and leadership in tinnitus management. She serves on the Board of Directors of the American Tinnitus Association (ATA).

Dr. McMahan is also among the early U.S. clinicians to implement Lenire®, the first FDA-authorized bimodal neuromodulation device for tinnitus (FDA De Novo authorization granted March 6, 2023).

She co-authored real-world outcomes research on Lenire published in Nature Communications Medicine, contributing to the growing body of evidence guiding modern tinnitus treatment protocols.

What to Expect on March 30: A Clinic Day Designed Around Your Symptoms

This clinic is focused on clear answers, practical strategies, and a plan you can actually follow.

During your appointment, you may receive:

  • Comprehensive tinnitus assessment (history, triggers, sound profile, and impact on daily life)
  • Personalized tinnitus management plan, which may include:
    • sound therapy options
    • counseling and coaching strategies
    • hyperacusis support (sound sensitivity)
  • Lenire® evaluation and candidacy discussion (where appropriate)
  • Step-by-step guidance tailored to your goals: sleep, concentration, stress reduction, sound tolerance, and quality of life

Important note: No single approach is right for everyone. The goal of the visit is to identify what’s driving your tinnitus experience and build a plan that matches your needs.

Why This Matters: Tinnitus Doesn’t Have to Control Your Life

Many tinnitus sufferers are told: “You just have to live with it.” That’s outdated—and unhelpful.

With the right plan and support, many patients report meaningful improvement in:

  • sleep quality
  • ability to focus
  • stress and emotional load
  • overall day-to-day comfort and well-being

When you combine Dr. McMahan’s expertise with California Hearing Center’s local, ongoing care, you get both: advanced protocols and consistent follow-up close to home.
